Every year, Brityn and I have a girls trip to Houston to visit Amber (my sis) and the girls (Channing and Chloe). This year, since Amber and Ryan just purchased a new home, I got to do one of my favorite things while we were there....DECORATE!!! While Amber and I were occupied with that, the girls made their own fun.
Sleigh ride, Houston style.
Friday morning, we loaded up the kids (Aunt Amber packed treat sacks), and headed to Goodwill (we made some awesome finds! I love a good treasure hunt!) and IKEA.
These girls loved the IKEA meatballs! (not pictured: Me, who could eat them for every meal)
This girl did not. Channing was still working on her first bite of meatball about 20 minutes into our meal. I don't blame her. Meatballs, not unlike it's cousin meatloaf can be very iffy.
Okay, the Kolache Factory is an absolute must for us when we visit Houston. They have the yummiest breakfast (rolls, pastries, breakfast thingies?) items. They are homemade rolls stuffed with your choice of things. My favorite was the ham and cheese.
Brityn's was the strawberry jam.
On Saturday night we had an ice cream tasting party (are you noticing a theme here? We had a lot of food related fun)!
We had 8 different flavors for all of us to try.
We made a little scorecard .
Chloe rated almost everyone a 5, which she thought meant, "I would like 5 scoops of that one". Well, of course that is exactly what that means.
Channing had a very distinguished palette. Very few of them got a 5 in her book.
Brityn liked the Strawberry Cheesecake and the Ben & Jerry's Fudge Brownie, but the overall winner for all three of girls was.............
Mine and Amber's favorite was.....................
The girls watched Enchanted snuggled up with blakets. It was cold in Houston!!
We really had such a great time. Amber is the greatest hostess ever. She let me help her decorate her new house and when it was time for us to leave Sunday morning, had breakfast and an airplane snack waiting for us. Can't wait for next year!!

How fun:) That makes me want to come and visit you guys right now...only if we could afford it! I can't wait to see you guys next week...it is going to be a blast! Good idea on the ice cream...i would have loved to join the PARTY:)
I love the food related theme ! It definitely goes with decorating! Girls work up appetites using AMEX and VISA!! =) Glad you had a good time and still only weigh 100 lbs.
What great sister/cousin fun! I'm a little jealous. My bros need to get crackin' so I can take girl trips with Elliot like that! May be awhile at the rate they all are going. :)

Super fun memories! Love the little ice cream tasting social. The girls riding down the stairs brings back a lot of memories of doing the same thing at Grandma and Grandpas.

That sounds like tons of fun! Chloe is so funny (rating all of the ice creams at a 5). Looks like you guys had lots of fun. Now we just need pictures of what you did with the house!

Hi Tiff, it is your long lost friend Kasey. I am such a bad friend... I am sorry it has taken me so long to comment, I have just been crazy busy. I got a job here and work monday thru friday. I have not talked to anyone I do miss you guys. It has been an adjustment to be back here but Broden is doing so well so that helps me a lot. love you and miss you I will try to be better at blogging! I promise :)
How fun! Can't you take a girls trip down here one day? I may not be as good a host as Amber but I do know where we can get some ice cream, and you can decorate all you want!!!!
I am so jealous that I dont have girls to do girly things with. Dont get me wrong I love my boys. but girls are fun too.
