Down with the snow?
Are you down in the single digits (with the wind chill) like we are?
It has NEVER been this cold here. And I know, since I've only lived here 4 years. The kids have spent the last three days with their faces pressed up against the window waiting for the snow the weather man promised. Yesterday afternoon there were flurries. They ran out and tried to wait out enough snow to throw a snow ball with. They were disappointed. Well, there was that and also the "let's test the ice on the pond" incident. Fun time was over after that. However, we woke up to a skif of snow this morning, and school was cancelled.
Horray for a snow day!
They were dressed and outside by 7:45 a.m. Our poor neighbors. It didn't last long. Brityn threw snow at Corbin, which went down the inside of his coat, and suddenly it was "the worst day ever", according to him. It's very powdery, so when they try to throw it, it disintegrates mid air. I looked out the window at Brityn, and there she was jumping away on the trampoline throwing snow in the air, and feeling it fall over her face. I look back at Corbin who has his eyebrows scrunched downward awaiting some retribution. I giggle and tell him to go have fun......"BUT LEAVE HER ALONE", I yell after him. 10 minutes later they all come back inside, all their extremities bright red. They turn on cartoons, and I busy myself making chocolate chip cookies. I am almost all the way through an episode of Go Diego Go!, when I realize that I'm the only one watching. All the kids had, one by one, gone back outside.
*I'm still in my p.j.'s.*
Happy Snow Day, Georgia peeps. And happy regular Friday for everyone else!

I have to say I am guilty of that myself when Daxen and I are watching those FUN cartoons he has left the room and I am watching a Kiddy show, which by the way I like sometimes:) I'm glad it snowed for them. But I don't blame Corbin snow going down your shirt is the WORST thing ever!
What a bunch of wimps you are down south! :)The only way we get a snow day is if it snowed so much you can't open your front door! Ha ha...I'll take any excuse for a snow day...even if there is no snow! Have a FUN day!
I love snow days in the south. They cancel school but you can still enjoy the day with only flurries of snow. Reading your post makes me want to make chocolate chip cookies. They sound so good on a cold day like today. Brrrrr!
How did Fancy Nancy do making your Chocolate Chip cookies? I would really like 1 snow day. Well maybe not. I don't have any warm clothes, I gave all my boots away, and my kids don't have warm clothes either. I can't wait til next year, I get to buy all new clothes for WINTER!!!
Jumping on the tramp? Burrr... I really think kids have no concept of it being fareezing!!!!! I have yet to see a snow day. I think that they would make us go to school even if is snowed 2 feet. Rarr....It looked like the kids had a great day nontheless.
NEW POST, NEW POST! this is unlike you to not have anything new posted within almost 3 weeks, and frankly I want something new because everytime I look at this blog I see the same post and get that dang song stuck in my head (baby are you down down down down down...Daaaaown, daaaown)
