I love me some Jeno's

Jeno's pizza is one of my favorite things.  It is only 70 cents which means you can guess the quality of the ingredients!  Upon close inspection (I don't recommend this) you find that the "pepperoni" is cube shape and there are curious little blimp shaped things with stripes on them.  I don't know what those are and I have asked many many people.  I actually don't think that there is one ingredient in the pizza that naturally occurs in nature.  But tasty it is!  I can eat a whole one by myself.  Served up with a glass of cold milk, there are not many things better.

Tiff, they're fennel seeds--a natural ingredient at last!

Oh! Thanks! The mystery has been solved,... maybe. What are fennel seeds doing on a pizza? Are fennel seeds often on pizza?

Thats funny you love those things. So does Brian! He eats them often. I prefer Little Caesars! YUM! How do you stay so tiny eating whole pizzas? Not fair!

Well, fennel seeds are often in sausage (just to give them some proximity to the pizza realm). I was investigating a similarly cheap pizza many years ago when I discovered the name for this very odd ingredient. And in this process, I also learned that I am not a fan of fennel seeds. I do, however, feel giddy if I can ever find a hamburger Totino's pizza. They're rare, under a dollar, and make me feel like I'm 14 again.
