Over Spring Break we went to "Medieval Times" which was really cool. The kids had a great time. We saw live jousting, beautiful horses, owls and falcons, and real sword fights, all while eating our dinner (with no utensils). Brityn was especially pleased with the turkey leg which the server told her was baby dragon. She smiled and clapped her hands. I bet that wasn't the reaction the server thought she was going to get. Boston loved the horses and so did I. Corbin thought the coolest part was watching the literal sparks fly off the metal during the sword (also axes, and all sorts of metal objects that I cannot name) fights. The worst part for him was finding out he could buy absolutely nothing with the $10 he had earned (thus the long face in one of the pictures). All the memorabilia and pre-show snacks and drinks were so overpriced! For example the slushies were $10, and then you had to buy the cup, for $4 additional dollars, to put the slushie in? I asked the "bartender" if I could just have it in my hands to which he replied "Aye, ma-lady, but what a mess THAT would be." Ridiculous! By the way the day after our trip I came across the word malady, in a story on Yahoo news. I kept pronouncing it ma-lady. I reread the sentence several times before it finally made sense. That place really messes with ya.

Your blog looks great! I love your "Sundays" theme on the right. I'm glad the kids had a great time at Medieval Times. It looks like a lot of fun.
Hello Malady- That is so funny about the Baby Dragon Leg! I would have said the same thing about the slushie, next time bring your own cup! ha ha wonder what he would say then.
I have a cookbook for kids where all the recipes have ridiculous names (like "Dragon Legs"), and I've often looked at it and mocked. But this post made me reconsider the power of the euphemism (and, yes, I tried to find a less snooty word). All I'm saying is file that away for the next time you're trying a new recipe.
Cute post...funny about the baby dragon leg!! Places like that are so fun, but they really no how to put the screws to ya!
