Well it was a jam packed month of June. Corbin turned nine and had a blast celebrating with his friends!! For his gift from Kevin and I, we went to Dick's Sporting Goods to look at new golf clubs, but he fell in love with some cushy flip flops. Women's flip flops. White Underarmour with blue lining and thick padding in the insole. They were very comfy (I know cause I tried them on after he kept going on and on about how comfy they were). When I told him they were women's shoes, he said, "Mom, boys flip flops don't even come close to being as comfy as these. These are like walking on clouds." I couldn't argue with that. I could tell just by looking at the boy ones that they were extremely uncomfortable. So, the "Pat" shoes were purchased (they really could be for girls or boys). Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself. As long as he's happy and doesn't care, I guess I shouldn't either.

Our family celebration consisted Smores making, per his request.

Grandma and Grandpa Wade were here to help us celebrate.

Brityn and Grandma Wade

Oh geez. Poor lil' unassuming Sweet Pea.

Did I mention it was like 100 degrees. Perfect night for a BONFIRE!! It was fun though and so yummy. My favorite was the marshmallows on Chips Ahoy cookies. If you haven't tried this, you're missing out!

Corbin's nickname should be 7-11, because his mouth is ALWAYS open. He is always singing, making up silly songs, or talking. He keeps our house lively for sure. He is very responsible and independent, and has a great sense of humor. He is always asking me what he can do to help me and gives me hugs all the time out of the blue. Kevin so kindly reminded me that him turning 9 means we are half way done raising him. I cried. 9 years have gone by in the blink of an eye, and I know the next 9 will go by even quicker. Corbin, Dad and I feel so lucky to have you in our home. You continue to be a great example to us and to your younger brother and sister. They absolutely adore you, as do we. We love you son!

Next came State Baseball.

Corbin's team made it to the state tournament. He had a great time playing, but it was a long HOT few months!

Next, onto Scout Camp. A week long 7th heaven for boys. He had a blast. I got to help on the last day and: 1)I don't think I've ever been so hot. ever. I was literally dripping wet by the end of the day. 2) Those soap box cars better have been worth the hour long wait on the asphalt in the midday sun. 3) Bless the lady who is in charge of that whole shabang. They couldn't pay me enough.

What a crazy month. Leave it to you to create something yummy with cookies and a fire. I'm going to have to try your idea.
