Well fall, so far, has gone a little something like this.....
Corbin complaining so much about piano, I tell his teacher he will no longer be coming. This upsets Corbin and he has been practicing on his own without complaint for a month now.
Brityn has run 25 miles in running club, and qualifies to enter the PTC Classis Marathon finish, where the kids get to run the last 1.5 miles with the marathon runners.
Boston had basketball tryouts, and could not be more excited to start.
Brityn has instigated a family act of service once a week. So far, we are 4 for 4.
All kids are bringing home mediocre grades, and I feel myself torn between being grateful for other areas in which they excel, and bringing the hammer down on the grades (more than I already have). Don't know how hard to push. Frustrated.
After the end of dinner one evening, Corbin asks if they can have hot chocolate and cookies after they come in from playing in the yard. I say yes. An hour later 8 kids show up at my door, with Corbin exclaiming, "Mom, we are all ready for the treats now!" We counted it as our service for the week. As they were all out on the back porch eating their treats, I heard Boston say, "My mom makes the best stuff, huh."
Corbin and Boston were out on their bikes picking up trash around the neighborhood. Corbin crashed pretty hard on his bike. This was the same day he got hit twice with the ball in his baseball game, and sustained injuries from a diving play. Poor kid.
Boston can read like a 2nd grader, but has a hard time with comprehension. We are working on it. He makes up his own interesting tid bits to spice up the stories he reads. Budding author? We'll see. ;) Stuff like this is in his genes. Right, Dad???
Brityn has started back at hip hop.
Boston is still a mommas boy. No complaints here.
Corbin still kisses and hugs his mom goodbye in front of everyone at school. THEN waves at me as I drive away.
Kevin's been working every night until about 8. I have a great appreciation for single mom's out there.
Brityn is begging for a bra. After repeatedly telling her maybe next year, she tells me that she will even use her own money and I don't have to be a part of it, if it makes me too sad (she's has apparently clued in to my being emotional about them growing up). Also, some girls at school told her she needed one. *eyeroll*
Corbin and Boston are playing fall baseball. Last two games have been rained out. Corb's pitching has come a long way, and Bost is doing awesome!!
Had to change my medication and my hormones are all out of whack!! Let's just say, my family is amazingly patient with this "unstable" mother ;) Hoping they level out here in a minute or two.
Brityn is enjoying learning to crochet and is hoping to make "potato chip" scarfs for all her friends for Christmas.
All three kids ask me about every other day when their uncles, aunts and cousins will be here to visit. We are so excited to have Tammy, Stevie, Meesha, Daxen, Michael, Kylee, and Racen coming to visit.
Well, that's the short and long of it :)

Very cute post. I enjoyed the reading. I didn't know Kevin was working so late. No wonder you want a chef with all the other things you have to keep up with. At least it sounds like your kids think you make the best stuff though, so that's always good. Sounds like a busy life.
great update! I feel like I really know what's going on with you and the whole family now! :) Your kids are too cute and have so much personality. When Drew gets on the bus he is just concerned with either being first or not last so if I get a quick hug in there, I'm lucky! :)
Phew thats quite the list! You are such a great Mom! Oh and take good notes about the bra thing cause I am going to need some advice in a few years.
