Love Bird Tag!

1.Where did you and your husband meet?
We lived at the same apartment complex (Raintree Apartments in Provo). We met when I was trying out a friends paintball gun and while aiming for the balcony above Kevin's apartment, narrowly missed Kevin who was standing out on his balcony. He then came over to see who was shooting at him.

2.First thing you said to each other?
I said little as I did not want to confess that I was the one that was such a poor shot. I do remember the conversation somehow came around to a camping trip they were planning. He asked if I would like to come. He said "I only have one sleeping bag, but we can make it work." That is the only specific thing I remember about our first conversation.

3.What was your first date?
I had casually asked him to come with a group I was going with up to the Nutty Putty Caves. He was standing out on his balcony as we were headed toward the parking lot, so I thought I would ask him to come. He kept saying "I don't know, I don't know if I really want to go." After everyone had gotten into their cars and left, I got fed up with the wishy washy attitude and told him see ya later. He ran after me and we were on our way. We ended up getting lost because we had no one to follow. We headed back and he took me out for ice cream at Hogi Yogi. We talked for a really long time and I remember thinking it was weird that I was liking him so much so fast it felt like we had been together for years.

4.Where was your first kiss?
I wish I had a more romantic story for this, but it was at his apartment. We were watching a movie and my roomate was there with us. Just us THREE. After waiting out the whole movie (it was some lame movie I don't even remember, I wasn't there for the movie) she finally left and we kissed.

5.Long or short courtship/engagement?
We met the end of April, were engaged the end of June, and married August 15th. So, yeah it was really fast. My mom always gave me a hard time because other than the 2 boyfriends I had, I never really went out with guys more than once or twice. That was just all it took for me to realize I wasn't interested. She thought I wasn't giving them a chance. I always believed in the "when it's the right one, you will just know" theory. And, when I met Kevin, I knew.

6.Where did you get engaged?
Up Provo Canyon at the top of a hill overlooking the whole city. He told me we were going to look at houses. Real smooth, honey. I knew exactly what was happening. I had picked out my ring and even knew what day it was going to be ready, so that was not much of a surprise. He got down on one knee and was shaking so badly, he had a hard time getting the ring on. It was also too small. He tried and tried to push it on. My poor thin little knuckle skin was being worn away, and finally I told him it was all right, that we could take it back to be sized. So, I was engaged, but had no ring for another week. The week before we had gone to my parents house so that he could ask my parents permission. Instead of saying, "please take care of our beautiful daughter, she is so precious and means the world to us", it went something like this:

Dad:Well Kev, I hope you know what you are getting yourself into.
Kev: She's the best, and I really love her.
Mom:She can be a little.......
Dad: She is used to getting what she wants. She is a little high maintenance, and very head strong.
Mom & Dad: Best of luck to you.

May I just take this opportunity to say: Parents, what the heck?

7. Where were you married?
We were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Even though this is not the closest temple to us, I just love the grounds and thought it would be incredible to married there. It was beautiful! It was so hot! It was the middle of August so we were dying of heat!

8.Where did you honeymoon?
I don't really know how to answer that because we kind of just drove around for a week. We camped, stayed in hotels, went fishing. We didn't care as long as we were together. Although, following along behind him barefoot up the creeks got a little old. I did try to fish, but his patience eventually reached it's end after having to retrieve and untangle my line out of trees, weeds, etc. So I just followed and watched. I'm sure it was the ideal honeymoon for one of us :0)

Yay someone played along. Way to go Tiff! I am the same way with boys and dates. Mom would always say "Be nice ok Monique" I am always nice. I also show my emotions very well on my face. Then she would add, "You can tell by the look on your face that you aren't trying to have a good time and that's rude." (Or something to that effect). Like you so very well stated When you find the right one you just...know! Why waste time?
