A little nugget to leave you with: We have been snowed in for 4 days. This is day 4. Kids have been out of school, including this past weekend, for 6 days!! Mmmm hmmm, that's right. We have gone through every range of emotion during our 4 snow days:
Day 1: HOORAY!!! I can't believe they've cancelled school! *singing, dancing* , making BIG plans for the day. Have huge breakfast, kids are gone literally all day yard hopping with neighbor kids. Great day!
Day 2: Hooray! No school again. *smile*, Snow is now ice and not kid friendly. We are going to be trapped in the house. I decide to still conduct piano lessons. One little boy goes down in our driveway, unawares of the "skating rink" under his feet. The sweet mother gets out to help him, and she too goes down. Then she handed me my payment. I felt guilty.
Day 3: Are you serious?..they've cancelled school....again. *eyeroll, whine*, we take our chances and decide to make a big trip out it to chick-fil-a, which is open, and 2 miles down the road. Corb gets grounded. I decide we can make it to our own piano lessons. *more eyeroll and whining* Corb gives the piano teacher a HUGE sob story about being grounded and not being able to play in the snow. She sends me a message wondering what in the world this sweet boy has done that could possibly deserve that punishment. She just could never imagine him misbehaving. Boy has she been snowed. Sorry, bad pun.
Day 4: NNNNOOOOOOOO!!! *tear*. Corbin is still grounded to his room. Brityn had a friend spend the night. The rest of the day is still to come....!
Day 5: ? Stay tuned
:)

What???????? Grounded on a Snow Day!!!! Poor Corb. In the famous words of Grandpa Steve "Bad things happen when you don't mind" That stinks. The bad thing is, is that most of the time it is so much worse punishment for us than them. Good luck :)
Looks like its been a couple of eventful days!! Good Luck keeping the kids entertained. I will pray that school will get back to running for your sake.
PS. Poor Corb...that he had to go to piano lessons. :)
Real funny Nat. He will be happy to know he has support on that front.
you crack me up! Thanks for the laugh. BTW, I would die if they cancelled that many days of school here for snow....yikes
Wow four snow days. That's crazy!!! Snow is always fun the first day and maybe the second day but anything after that is just bad news!
Have you tried singing the grounded song to your kids to help them out? "Grounded, marked with a cowards shame" I sang it to Chloe the other day, yes she got grounded, and she rolled her eyes at me:) It felt just like old times. I hope you survived your last few days off and I hope you had a good break at youth conference.
