Today, I officially kicked off my spring cleaning. I cleaned blinds on 3 windows. That's enough for one day. I HATE cleaning blinds. Actually, I hate cleaning. It just seems like such a waste when everything becomes undone again anyway.
But, I have found that just a little bit of a good thing can change that attitude. I started out the day with this:
Banana Pecan Pancakes
Sounds complex, but it's just bisquick pancakes, topped with homemade syrup, sliced bananas, and pecans. I have tried making my own pancakes before. Several different recipes, several different times, but I just prefer the taste of Bisquick. Probably because it reminds me of home. And it's sooooo much faster.
I would love to say I also made these for my kids, but I didn't. That would have been a waste of my time. For one, the older two detest syrup. I think it's the soggy factor. Even if we had made it past that, the foreign toppings would have done them in. So, it was a little something I made just for me. Well, Boston did have a bite, sans the toppings.
And you know what? That little something I did just for me made me feel like I could face my day. So I did. I mopped 2 floors, and cleaned blinds, baseboards, and walls in my living room. I tried really hard to overlook the fact that this was just one room of many that needed this done. I was pretending this was the ONLY room. I cleaned it REALLY good, too. Not the 10 min-someone is on their way over-stuff things where you can-and spray air fresher type clean.
"That deserves some more me time", I thought. So I whipped up a batch of (no not cookies, although that sounds really good)......
Homemade lemonade.
It is really yummy and really springy looking sitting on my kitchen table.
We are all worth a little me time. And we can still find little moments each day to do something just for us. Blast your favorite music, Chew bubble gum, spray on your favorite scent (loving this. It's an oldie, but they've brought it back. Smells like summer!).
Just a little bit can go a long way!!

I wish blinds were not so stinking expensive, I hate cleaning them so bad that I wished I could buy new when they were dusty. Ty said it wouldn't be practical... dang.
