Halloween Top 10
10-The year my Dad dressed up as a stuffed "porch decoration" and scared the you know what out of all the kids that came trick or treating at our house.
9-The year Corbin refused to wear his costume and wanted to wear his white thermal pj's. So we stuffed them and we went as the michelin man.
8-The year Corbin wanted to dress as Napoleon Dynamite until he took a look at himself in the mirror with the wig and glasses on. His courage failed him and he went as a baseball player (I know big stretch, right?)
7-The year Boston got his sucker stuck in his lion mane.
6-The year we got rootbeer slush at a neighbors house. Yum! We miss you Pickelsheimers!!
5-The year Brityn put her own costume together (Dance tutu, red thermal tights, and brown boots).
4-Our first Halloween married, I did not buy enough loot and ended up handing out canned goods. After the first few cans went out the door, I thought "What am I doing!!!??? Those are like 50 cents a can!"
3-The year my college roommate Megan Morris and I went trick or treating at the BYU dorms as "Crazy Sack Heads". Our costumes consisted of a paper sack over our heads. People were irritated. I say, lighten up!
2-The year my best friend Jaylin and I rented matching genie costumes. The sad news was it was snowing/sleeting and we had to wear our winter coats, gloves, and boots. Nobody even saw our adorable costumes, except for my grandma who had us come in and warm up by the fire.
1-The year Brityn wanted to dress up as snot (seriously folks, I could not make this stuff up).
-by the way, my dad is excellent at finding unorthodox ways of doing things. He helped the kids carve these pumpkins with an electric carving knife. Who would have thought?

Love it Tiff - especially the snot. Reminds me of my brother dressing up as a mamogram machine:)
I always love your posts. I too loved the year Dad scared the b'jeezus out of all the kids....hilarious!
Great list. I loved trick-or-treating at Grandma and Grandpa's, especially on a cold night. We could go inside and warm up and she always had a little something extra for us. I'm really glad we grew up with g-ma and g-pa next door.
I loved when dad dressed up to be the stuffed man on the porch. It was so funny, but it always gave mom a "sad heart". Those other things are so funny, like Boston getting his sucker stuck in his lions mane.
That is so cute. I love Halloween, one of my favorite is when Davis was two and I dressed up as a witch and painted up my face green. Davis was so scarred and would not come close to me.
That's funny! i love your post.
So I just have to ask, What did the kids think when you handed them a canned item? I can just imagine getting a can of green beans for trick-or-treating.
My BYU costume - Gumbie. Green garbage bags and tights - we forgot there was a dress code and got into a "little" trouble.
That cracks me up that you gave out canned goods...better than nothing, right? On Friends when Rachel runs out of candy she starts writing checks to little kids and they get so mad. Funny! I love the picture of the kids, and very good jack o lanterns!
I love the snot idea! I bet they finished their carving in record time with an electric knife. We just might have to try it this year!
What a fun one to read. Funny stuff! The snot thing is hilarious. And the michelin man. What a great idea. A couple of years ago all of my boys dressed up like Napolean. It was so funny. Definitely my favorite Halloween.
I think Adri's dad handed out pieces of bread one year. A little cheaper idea I guess??
