Baseball & Apple Pie

Last Saturday we enjoyed a little ball...........

...........and made homemade apple pie.  Brityn asked "Mom can we make apple pie today?"  She asked as if it were chocolate chip cookies.  As I look at her trying to think of a response, I have visions of a haggard mother, flour streaks on her cheeks, kettles of sauce boiling over on the stove and hours ticking by as she is still cutting apples.  I then gently tell her this mom does not make apple pie, to which she replies, "Why?"  That I did not have an answer for.  So, we found a recipe on line and WE DID IT!!  We even made the crust from scratch.  She looks so impressed doesn't she?

It was actually not that hard.  A little time consuming with the apple part, but all in all not as bad as I had imagined.  The best part is, it was delicious!  I of course had the first sample to make sure it wasn't poisonous.

Everybody likey!

Some Halloween stuff......

Spooky.......

very cute halloween decorations - I never get that creative! But I love the apple pie story - I will remember it when Drew asks me to make something like that one day - just be adventurous and you never know... :)

I love your decorations! I wish my house wasn't so tore up with all the remodeling we are doing because I am having a hard time getting into Halloween this year without any decorations. Yeah for homemade apple pie, I bet your house smelled like heaven.

You've inspired me to try an apple pie. I'm not sure when, but hopefully sometime this year. Ryan would be so impressed as would I. I love the Halloween decorations. Now you need to tell us where we find them!
