Brityn's 2008 Dance Recital

Brityn's recital was so great!  She did such a great job.  They perfomed a ballet piece "A Princess is in town", and a tap number, "Living in a Rainbow".  Right before she went on for the first number she told me she was a little nervous, but once she got out on stage, she was fine.  I was the room mom for the day, which meant I had to sit back with the girls
in her class until
the recital was over.  By the time the tap number came around (1 1/2 hours after our ballet number), the girls' hair was falling out, their tights were filthy, they had cracker crumbs all over their costumes and their faces.  They didn't seem too concerned about messing up their costumes or getting dirty, but they were REALLY concerned about making sure they had lipstick on before they went on stage.  Grandma and Grandpa Wade got to be here for her performance and that was really special.  When the recital ended, Dad was waiting for her with a dozen roses.  On the way home she told me she wanted to be in gymnastics.  That's great to hear when the family has gone hungry to pay for this costume, and I spent all morning (we had to be at the school at 8:45) trying to entertain 5 little girls for 3 hours in a high school class room shared by 30 other little girls 5 and under.  Deep breath....aaannnd out.  I wished I had taken pictures of her and Kevin with the flowers, and her with Grandma and Grandpa, but you will just have to close your eyes and imagine it (the roses are yellow). I was spent, and just wanted to get home.  It was a long morning.  We are so lucky to have this little sweet pea in our home who keeps us on our toes.

Can we talk about that hair for a second? Holy Cow, she's adorable! All I can say is that there has never been better ballet hair since Gwyneth won the Oscar.

I hope her mom got a rose for her role as stylist, and crowd control. Love it, love it!

She looks beautiful! The picture of her looking over her shoulder looks so much like you. I wish we could have seen her adorable performance. Maybe she can give us a recap at the reunion.

I love that now she's done with it and is on to gymnastics! That's a riot! It is so fun to watch our kids figure out what they like and what they're good at, huh? Ryan's "found himself" on the stage. Think Donny Osmond with blonde hair. He played Brigham Young in his school musical a couple weeks ago.

She is adorable. I hear ya with the hunger to pay for the costume thing. We went through the same thing. I wish we could have been there too. I bet she did so good. Tell her I am signing her up for a tap dance at the reunion!

She looks so pretty like a princess! I bet she did such a wonderful job. I like the picture where she is looking down at the railing or something.

Ahhh, the memories :c). Hannah did four years of dance; and I thought we were going to end up in the poor house last year because of it. Gymnastics has been nice. Have Brityn check out our blog to see Hannah doing her Performance Day. Brityn looks enchanting, by the way.
