Misfortune Leads To Fortune

First: "A Story In Pictures"

Brityn lost her front tooth last night.  Not wanting to leave the tooth fairy anything less than a shiny jewel of a tooth, she took it into the bathroom to brush it and rinse it off before leaving it under her pillow.  She held it in the palm of her hand under the faucet, and then turned the water on full blast.  The tooth was shot down the drain.  She fell apart.  After reassuring her that the tooth fairy would know what to do about it, she wrote the tooth fairy a note (My scanner is not working so I will write what she wrote):

"to the tooth fere.  My tooth wet down the drane.  The front tooth."

She left this note with an empty baggie under her pillow.  After everyone had gone to bed, I heard someone faintly knocking on the front door.  Who could be coming to our house at this hour? When I went to the door I found Brityn, again with the tears and the "I lost my tooth" as if I had forgotten in the last 2 seconds.

Me: What are you doing outside?
Brit:  Looking for my tooth, WWAHHHH!
Me:  Why do you think it's outside?
Corbin: She was outside checking all the gutters.
Brit: And it wasn't there, WWAAHHHH!
Corbin (aside to me): I don't think that is where the water from the sink goes, Mom.
Me: You would be correct son.
Me: Brityn I promise you this has probably happened to lots of kids.  The tooth fairy will still leave you something.

And she did....and he did.  Both tooth fairies at different times in the night (without the other knowing) left Brityn something.  So, because she struck it rich overnight, she treated her brothers to a candy of their choice at the checkout at Walmart today.  I love my kids!

That is such a cute story! Funny for us, traumatic for them! Glad it all turned out alright in the end! One time both toothfairies in our house forgot. That was the worst!

p.s. Is it her top front tooth? I must see a picture of her if it is. That is the cutest ever! Tyson hasn't lost a top tooth yet. I can't wait because I think it is soo cute!

That's the cutest story! Once Ashley lost a tooth and didn't know where it went. Our neighbor brought it over three days later, when her kids saw something white bouncing on their trampoline with them!

Oh my gosh! That is so funny! I can't believe the tooth survived the trampoline.

That is so funny. I can picture it all going down in my head. You have to make sure you write it down in your or her journal. These things make great memories.

Too cute. Harrison was "helping" Hannah pull her tooth up in the Bonus Room one time. The tooth went flying out of her mouth and we never did find it...even when we got new carpet. Of course, my kids got teeth later, and Harrison just lost his last one last month. The tooth fairy lost its magic about four years ago. BUMMER! Hannah did learn that Tinkerbell is the tooth fairy when you lose a tooth at Disney World, though.

That is so sweet. What a generous little sweet heart. I remember a similar situation when I lost my first tooth. It was in my hand and i was in the pantry looking for a plastic baggie, and it slipped out of my hand into the wonders of the pantry floor. Never to be seen again. I feel for her.

I loved your pictures that went along with the story. What a creative idea. That is so funny that she was looking in the gutter. I love that she thought she might find it out there. I can't wait to see a picture of her.
