Corbin's 8th birthday!

We are so lucky to have such an amazing son in our family.  Corbin is a very responsible very organized little man.  He is a whiz at math and can figure out math problems and story problems in his head.  He is a great example to his parents and his younger siblings.  He was chosen to play on an all star team and was so excited to be able to play with some friends who were also on the team this year.  Once he found out the games were on Sunday (without a word from Kevin or me), he simply said "Mom, I'm not playing if the games are on Sunday." I asked him if he was sure and he couldn't have been more serious about it.  I know he was dissapointed because he LOVES baseball, but I am so proud of him for standing up for what is right.  He is a natural at most things he does.  If he happens upon something that is difficult for him, he sticks with it until he masters it.  He is a  good cook!  He can make really yummy blueberry muffins, fry bacon, cook ramen, & make sandwiches.  He loves to build things and wants to be going and doing all the time.  He is hardly ever sitting still.  He is a hard worker and loves to help me around the house, and Kevin in the yard.  We are so blessed to have Corbin in our home.  We love you son, Happy Birthday!

I can't believe he is 8! That is so neat that he stuck up for what was right with out a word from you or Kev. That just reassures you that you and Kevin are doing a wonderful job teaching your children what is right and how to live each day.

What a great post. I loved hearing about all the things he likes to do. I'm so proud of him for saying he wouldn't play baseball on Sunday. We can't wait to see you all in a few days.

Good for your little man. When Mick turned 8 I had the hardest time. I know that when they get baptized it's supposed to be the happiest thing but for me... I was so sad. Sad that my baby was now 8!! Did we raise him correctly that he would make his own decisions and be accountable? I obviously was extactic of his choice to be baptized but this was a HUGE milestone for me. It really was hard. It sounds like you guys have definately given him the right tools to make good decisions! Happy Birthday to your little guy. BTW - you know if you were in Utah, Corbin wouldn't have to make that decision! HEHE!!!
