And so it starts

After a morning slightly filled with drama (Brityn moves like a snail, bless her heart), they are ready to go!  Right after this picture was snapped, they had to run to catch the bus.  Corbin's supplies sack split open during the mad dash and his supplies went everywhere!  I'm not going to lie, it was a rough morning.

Brityn didn't eat a very good breakfast (I think she was very nervous!), and had tears over her hair.   She finally just a put a very cute hat on.....which the teacher made her take off when she got to school.  Poor girl.

Corb's morning was less drama filled.  Must be nice to be a boy and not have to really care about how your hair looks.

Of all the clothes in her closet, Brit chose to wear a plain white tee, and tan shorts.  I tell ya, this is going to be really hard for me.  You know, the doing her own hair thing, and the picking her own outfits thing.  I'm trying not to have a panic attack about it.  Trying so hard!

They both had a good day, and didn't even complain about getting their homework done.  Yeah, homework on the first day!  Brityn had to fill out an "All About Me" paper, which had her list all her aunts, uncles, cousins, and immediate family members.  30 minutes later, we were still working on that same question.  There just simply was not enough room....or time, so we went to the next question.  She told me, "Second grade homework is LONG!"
Good luck to us all!

Way to make it through! I think first days of school are always rough and chotic! I love the theme dinner. You always have such great ideas!

Oh Tiff, it would be very hard for me to let my daughter do her own hair too! I have a hard enough time letting Caleb pick his own clothes! We have a deal where I get to pick one day, then him, etc. I look back and wonder WHY in the world my mother let me out of the door with my big hair! UGH! They look SO CUTE on their first day! Sorry it started out a little rough. Love the fashion show - especially Boston just carrying all of his clothes out. I laughed so hard because that is exactly what my boys would have done! Can't believe school has begun! Ours starts in a week too!

It's amazing how easy boys are than girls. Hunter doesn't care what he wears, no hair to have to really fix. Girls are funny!

Oh boy! That sounds like what our day will probably be like in about a week from now. First day of school is NEVER easy! Letting them do their own hair and pick their own clothes was such a struggle at first...but once I let it go...it is nice to have one less thing to worry about! Hope day #2 goes a little smoother,...I am sure it will!

sounds like you had a pretty stressful morning. To bad it didn't go smoothly! I am glad everyone had a wonderful day at school, and made it home alive:) I can't believe that school has already started for them! Hopefully tomorrow things will go better!!

Ohhh. They look so cute. I cant believe how grown up they look, especially Brityn in that last pic. I know I always say that but it just keeps happening. I know what you mean abou the clothes and the hair thing. I cant even let Dace out the door until I have dressed and done his hair to my approval. He attempts to do his own by slicking it down with water and then using 1/2 bottle of hairspray..I wish I didn't care but I do... Thats funny about Brityn and you know, it is only going to get worse :) Good luck kids on day 2.

The kids look so cute and I love Brityn's hat. I am going to remember your back to school tradition idea for next year. What a great idea to have a family theme and the fashion show is hilarious.
