Tomorrow is the first day of school. I didn't plan the usual "first day teacher gifts" this year. Instead, we opted to focus on ourselves (that sounds selfish, and had I planned a little more in advance I might have been able to do both) and had a fun, entertaining, spiritual evening.

Our family theme for this school year was taken from a youth conference I attended earlier in the year.
"I Can Do Hard Things."
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

My kids know when they see the "nice" tableware, it's a special dinner.

Ham is a family favorite!

Eat up kiddies!

We are so very blessed to have so much: To not know what it is to go hungry, or be without loved ones, and to have the gospel in our lives.
Dinner was followed up by a fashion show: The kids modeling their school clothes!!

Corbin's included props. And the theme music "Eye of the Tiger".

The prop here was a golf club, and a mustache.

The music for this one was "Don't Worry Be Happy".

All of Brityn's walks were done to "Will You Be There", by who else, Michael Jackson.

She designed her own outfits!

Boston didn't like the idea of strutting around in front of everyone so he just brought his clothes downstairs and put them in Grandma's lap.
The kids had a fun time, and are now tucked in bed still wide awake with excitement! Too bad this adrenaline can't last throughout the whole year!
On an unrelated note..........

Corbin told me that he has located his sweet tooth. Apparently it's the bottom one to the right of his front teeth.

The End.

I love it! You are such a sweet momma! What a fun way to start off the school year!!! Lucky kiddo's!
What a great idea! We had father's blessings and a pep talk, or more like a threat talk that went something like, "This year you better do your homework or the XBox is going OUT THE WINDOW!"
You are so CUTE I love it!
What a fun idea! Brityn is such a fanshionista, I feel a career in designing might be right up her alley. Seriously I can't believe how big your kids are getting. Now just what are you going to do with your spare time with the kiddos in school? We are all so lucky that our trials are just trivial to the majority of Americans.
I can't believe it is that time already! Summer seems to go faster every year! Hope the kids have a GREAT year!
School time already. Good luck kids:) Have fun, and don't get into to much trouble! They look so good in there outfits. You are so creative Tiff with the things that you do! I will need to make notes for the future!!
Soo much to say.. LOve your tank. I have the same one. From American Eagle? I love that Brityn puts together her own outfits. That causes me stress for you, not that she didn't do an awesome job but that you might not be so luck some days. Corb is such a ham. I love that he is getting an adult sense of things, like the outfits with the perfect props and even more perfect music. Soooo Bostie, that is very much his darling personality. I love it! You are such an awesome mom. You always think of fun and creative things for your fam. They dont know how lucky they are. Did you rearrange and paint? I looks like you did and I like it. Come home soon!!! We miss you.
oh my gosh! I am cracking up at Boston. I love the school theme idea - I've got to do that and modeling school clothes. What great ideas!!! Your kids are so lucky to have such a creative mom!!!
