Our vacation to Puerto Rico was so much fun. We were gone for 5 days 4 nights. Just the right amount of time. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, it didn't stop us from having a fun and memorable vacation.
Driving into San Juan.
Old San Juan. Pictures (especially MY pictures) do not do this place justice. It reminded me of an Italian village. I have not been to Italy. But this is what it looks like....in my mind (you have to say that like Nacho Libre).
The middle of Old San Jan. I don't know who this guy is. He looks important.
El Morro, an old fort, was incredible. I assume this is what Ireland looks like. Again, I have never been to Ireland. It was also very windy and there were lots of people/families flying kites.
This cemetary was on the other side of one of the fort walls. Everything is completely white.
Right next to the ocean, it was so beautiful.
Luquillo Beach
Look what came out of the water right in front of us!
El Yunque Rain Forest.

We went on some hikes and even got to swim under a waterfall. Not me, are you crazy? That water was freezing.
Me thinking I have mad photog skills.
The roads are very rough in Puerto Rico. I would be amazed if this guy got to where he was going without losing some of these bananas. On our drive across the island we decided to stop and try the pork at a roadside stand (a suggestion from Frommers). Kevin got out to go order. The stand is tiny, like the size of a small closet, run by a sweaty greasy owner. The guy in front of Kevin ordered intestines. The owner threw the intestines up into a scale (they were all dangling off the sides), charged the guy, and packaged them up (paper towels and a plastic sack). Then Kev ordered. The guy cut our meat with a hacksaw and threw it up on the SAME SCALE the raw intestines had been on. Kevins face was completely white and clammy when he got back to the car. It was actually good meat, but Kevin kept saying, "I need to swish with gasoline and light my mouth on fire."

Christmas looked like so much fun as well as this wonderful vacation! Glad you are back - can't wait to catch up! :)
Love the Vacation photos! When Y'all come to Hawaii(if Y'all come to Hawaii) I will sit on the beach with you. I never get in it is cold and there are things in there that would scare the pants off me. When I was reading the part about the meat, I think that I would have thrown up but thats not the point. It reminded me of the time we went to Wingers with you and the Foxs' Mason and Kevin ate the hot hot sauce and Kevin about died. That was fun. Glad to see that you had a great vacation.
Stac- His eyes are still bloodshot from that stinkin hot sauce. That stuff was insane!
How fun! It looks so pretty there. And warm. I want to be wearing flip flops right now!! What fun family vacation memories!
Oh, I'm glad you liked those posters! I just think they are the coolest things ever! And what a good idea to give them as baptism gifts.
I can see you writing and photographing for a travel magazine! You are so talented Tiffany ! Let's chat over soup in our jammies!!!
Hey, I'm glad you went to PR! Def a great weekender trip, right? I can't believe that you actually listened to Frommers. I would never buy from a roadside stand. But, I glad to find out that you are that daring. I have heard about some dives around here that have great bbq. I now know who I will call to go with me!
Looks like so much fun. Missed you and can't wait to hear more about your trip.

Too fun, you guys! What an adventure. Although, if that iguana had come anywhere near me, I would have had to leave IMMEDIATELY! I HATE iguanas...BLECK!
