Now what?

What do you do with 13 pounds of strawberries?  Well, we are about to find out.

Tyler, my nephew is here visiting for a few days, and we all went to pick strawberries this morning.

The kids were literally in heaven.  They had a blast.  They told me they wanted to go back and pick blueberries, and raspberries and onions, and just about anything else they had available.  This is good to know, since I think I may have planted too many zucchini plants, and they will be producing like rabbits.  I have a U-pick right in my own back yard!   They will be so happy.

When it was time to go, getting them out of the rows was difficult.  It's hard to pass by a huge, ripe, red, juicy strawberry, and not pluck that baby off the vine!!

Wish me luck with my 13 lbs. of fruit.  This should be interesting.

13 pounds! Whew. We picked a little over 4 pounds and I thought that was a lot. We just finished off the last bit of our strawberry shortcake today. I guess you have a few more helping hands to make your strawberry load add up quick. Enjoy!

Ty's grandma always makes strawberry freezer jam. My kiddos love it. It kind of lifts our spirits during the winter and remind us of summer.
