Founders Day 2009

Our Founders Day celebration kicked off with a performance by Corbin's school choir.  Set up was in front of the "Pork Skins" concession stand.  Must be a southern thing.  Have you ever, in your life,  uttered the words, "I'm going to run over to the concession stand and get some pork skins"?  Parrot Funeral Home also had a "booth".  They are probably in kahoots.

The kids did a great job!

Saw lots of friends and had a great time!

After the performance it was over to the carnival.  Boston was able to go on several rides.  This is a trip to get an ice cream, after he was so sad that he couldn't go on "The Hammer".

Brityn in front of the tilt-a-whirl.  She went on this twice.  So did I.  Once with Boston and once with Brityn.  I was ready to toss my pork skins after the second ride.

Fun!

Saturday morning came EARLY!!  We were soaked before the race began.  It was pouring rain.

The 5K runners.

Corbin's time was 28:30.  He did awesome!  Left me in the dust (30:42).

The one milers.

Brityn's time was 9:59.  Great job!

Some poor unsuspecting friends that I roped into running with me.  They're so nice ;0) !!

Nice job Wade family. What a great family activity. Maybe we can all do the Turkey Trot here at Thanksgiving?

Way to go! That is so good. Way to go Corb! That is awesome. You too Sweet Pea. I need to get back into that. I love to run I just hate the part of getting down there to do it. It looks like you guys had a great time, and at the carnival too.
