After ten minutes go by I pass an open field of grass. It extends as far as I can see. It is where the gas pipelines are buried, but it is a beautiful sight. The grass not the pipelines. The field is lined with thick green trees and it fades off into the mist in the distance. There is also a passing train in that mist once in awhile. If you think I am adding the, "mist in the distance", phrase to try and sound all poety, I'm not. There really is mist. And there is a good bit of distance.
5 more minutes, and I pass 2 dogs. One is a German Shepard who sits at the top of his drive way and, very general like, ensures I do not invade his territory. He barks only when he first sees me and right before I leave his field of vision. The second dog lives 3 houses down from the German Shepard. He is a golden lab and convinces himself every morning that I am chasing him. He will run 2 yards in front of me, stop, turn around, and wait until I get with 2 feet and then scramble off in front of me again all startled. He growls and acts all jumpy, and I have to sweetly tell him to knock it off.
10 minutes later I pass our acorn garden, where Boston and I gather acorns in the fall. It's a very crunchy few minutes.
Then onto a field surrounded by a white fence that keeps 4 beautiful horses. Every morning I envision myself jumping the fence and bare backing for a little while. It's all a beautiful vision, until I see if from someone else's perspective: "Do you see that crazy lady out there? It looks like she is in some sort of exercise gear. She is trying to get herself up on that horse, bless her heart. Those shorts are going to give her a bad case of "Mary Chafin' Carpenter".
On my way back around to the house, I pass 2 different sets of juniper bushes. Both which smell heavenly and always remind me of my Grandma and Grandpa Leonard.
And finally past the pond, where the turtles pop their heads back under the water, frightened by my gasping for breath at this point. There. You have just had a guided tour of my running route. Hope you enjoyed the sights!

You are officially a runner! When you can enjoy a run like that there is no looking back. You are hooked now and no one other than other true runners can know what the heck you see in running just because. And running in the fall like this is probably the best.
Yay! So glad you are loving running so much! It's the best isn't it? By the way, I talked to Adri. She is doing good and is due November 2. I'm so happy for her!
Running has never sounded so beautiful.
