Happy "Fall"idays!

I love fall.  I love the colors, the smells, the weather, the clothes, the holidays.  As soon as I see the slightest color variation in the leaves, I go into nesting mode in preparation for the coming holidays.  This entails decorating for fall (which might possibly include some furniture rearranging), cleaning out clothes closets, storing summer gear, making changes to the meal menu, and pulling out extra quilts for the beds.

But, it's all a trick you see because meanwhile it is still 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE!!   The kids still need their summer clothes, and fall decorations look out of place when it is still so hot. Soup and Chili on the dinner menu have to be choked down because the last thing that is appetizing after a ball game in the heat is a nice big bowl of chili and cornbread.  I want to break out those cozy sweaters but after about 9:00 a.m. it is too dang hot.  So, while I am watching most of the trees start to go bare, I am still sporting shorts and flip flops.  Fall becomes a big game of pretend instead of an actual seasonal change.  It will eventually cool off, but it seems like this year it is not coming fast enough.

Hurry Fall, hurry fast.  And, could you stay awhile this year?

Fall favorites:
Land O Lakes hot chocolate flavor: peppermint and white chocolate
Cracker Barrel apple cider
Zucchini mini muffins (zucchini bread baked in a mini muffin tin)
Pumpkin soup a.k.a soup in a pumpkin
My brown leather jacket
Yankee Candle flavor: Autumn Wreath

What are your favorite fall things?

I love Fall!!I never experienced it until I moved here. In Louisiana, fall is 1 or 2 days of 70 degree weather in late November. My favorite is looking down a big hill and seeing all the different colors on the trees. I love it!!

I love the Fall too - I am ready for it...but I don't think I will get it here in South FL (don't you feel bad for me?) I love pumpkin cookies, pumpkin spice candles, football games and long runs through the leaves! sigh

I think fall is my favorite too. I am just going to say ditto to everything you said. I love the cool air and I too love fall clothing. I love pumpkin cookies, hot soup and warm rolls. I just love everything about fall.

Fall was a favorite for me when I was really little and lived in Ohio. We would rake the leaves into HUGE piles and jump in them. Then, we would get fresha apples from the orchards in my hometown; and grandma would make apple dumplings with vanilla ice cream....YUM!!! And it was ALWAYS a huge deal to go to the County Fair and get homemade french fries. All stuff that doesn't happen here....sigh.

I love the idea of zucchini bread baked in a mini muffin pan! How fun! I'll have to try that one.

Ya know what I love? September. I'm not so much into fall when it gets cold. It just means winter is coming and I really don't like that. But this time, right NOW, I love it! It's cooler, (but still hot), the crisp smell is the best, and I love the fall sports. If it could stay September until May, I'd be happy. I guess winter would be ok for December, but that's it! I guess it dosen't get very cold there, does it? You lucky dog!

Sorry for rambling...

So for our fall it is just the same as summer, spring and, winter I will be wearing flip flop for the next 2 1/2 years. On the way to school there is a door with a fall wreath on it and it looks so out of place because there is no season change something I have to get used to. Enjoy the colors of fall:)

Cool fall mornings, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin patches and fall colors and smells. However, my most favorite thing was when we lived in our first house it was located on a tree lined street of huge age old trees and I loved when a breeze would start blowing and you would look outside and it was raining leaves all the way down the street.

I am kinda itching for fall too. I love summer, but the change is nice. We are having some major hot weather for this time of year too. Wish the pool were still open...Even though it will probably be 90 degrees today we are making split pea soup for dinner per Justin's request.

I hear you. I love to start wearing warm clothes and serving up hot soup. And you know I love the holiday decorating. It can't come soon enough for me. But it is hard for me to see the warm weather go too. Not the HOT weather, the WARM weather.

Since when do you like apple cider? I too, love the fall. I know how you feel about thinking it is fall and still sporting shorts and flip-flops. I am so anxious to wear long pants and sweaters. My favorite fall meal...homemade chicken/rice soup and homemade bread. There is nothing better.

We love the trees changing colors, pumpkins, raking leaves to jump in, hot chocolate, warm , fuzzy sweaters and the thought of a Halloween hayride with friends. Orange and brown are favorite colors and crisp cold air camp-outs can't be beat! We can't wait to go!!
