Corbin did such a great job on his solo, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". He was really nervous, but did a great job. He has really enjoyed taking lessons, much to my surprise and joy. He really wants to learn to play the guitar (like John Mayer. I wonder where he gets that idea from?), but I told him piano first. He told me last night, after the recital, that one of his best friends at school is starting a band. And wouldn't you know it? They are looking for a piano/keyboard player. See? Sometimes moms know best.
Our duet, "O, Come All Ye Faithful", didn't go as smoothly. Corbin didn't stop and start over though, and tried his best to keep going. I am so proud of him for working so hard.
Mrs. Marilee (his lovely and talented piano teacher, in the middle) asked Corbin to turn the pages for a duet. She said it helps them learn to read music. What a smart lady! This made me more nervous than his own piano solo, but he did a great job. After the recital, he told Mrs. Marilee that the whole recital was a great time! Although, to be fair, that was just after she had handed them all treats. It was fun to see lots of other friends there, too. They all did great!

How lucky you are to have a great talent to pass on to your children.
That sight honestly brought tears to my eyes. He lookes like such a grown up man. I am sure he did a wonderful job. I wish I could have been there. You are so lucky to have him have the want to do that. I think that I am not going to be so lucky in my house hold.
I love Mrs. Marilee and she is a wonderful teacher. Very patient. Great job Corbin. Couple of more years and you will be playing with your mom in church.
I too teared up when I saw those pictures. I wished we lived closer so we could come to those things. Kodi and Dagen would have loved to watch that!
Nice job Corbin & Tiffany too:)
Great job Corbin!! You need to video him playing his piece and post it for us. And by the way, since when do 8 year olds start a band?
I know! We'll see how that all pans out. Besides harmonicas, recorders and a kazoo or two, I can't imagine that any of them actually own instruments.
Noah started the drums this year and is getting a set for Christmas. I am so excited to finally hear him play what he has been learning.
